Terms of Submission
Summary
This blog loves user submissions. Photos, opinions, news, press releases, send it over here. This sort of openness has come back to bite me before which is why there now follows some rather dry language that says, please send us your stuff (but not stuff you don’t own or have permission to share) but only if you are happy for this blog to share it and leave it shared – we will give you full credit for the thing you share.
Terms of Submission
The above notwithstanding, you (the person sharing or submitting the content) assert and affirm that the content, image, or any other media (the submission) is yours or that you have full rights or permission to share it with us (Matthew and thanetviews.com) and that you freely and willingly have shared the submission. In submitting content you grant us a royalty-free, non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, non-expiring, sub-licensable, transferable, license to display, use, copy, transmit, broadcast, and publish the content as part of this site (thanetviews.com), anywhere the site is syndicated, in any promotional material for the site and its content, and in any other medium the content of the site might be published; along with all necessary rights to create derivative works under the same license or any future version of these terms. All other rights remain with you. This is not a contract of employment and forms no business or personal relationship. Unless negotiated prior to submission, no payment will be made for your submission.
We may in the future update or revise these conditions. Such updates shall apply retroactively unless such change substantially conflicts with the prior version of these terms. If any one part of these terms shall be found to be unenforceable or void, all other terms shall still apply.
Publishing of any submission is at the discretion of those running the site now or in the future. We (Matthew, thanetviews.com, and anyone else involved) reserve the right to refuse or unpublish a submission with or without reason.
Comments, Webmentions, and syndicated replies (comments) are forms of submitted content. We are under no obligation to publish such submissions but may choose to do so at our discretion. You agree not to submit content that might be classified as derogatory, dangerous, hate speech, or illegal content. Such submissions may be shared with the authorities if we deem it appropriate to do so. Submission of a comment may carry with it such metadata as IP addressing, names, protocol, timestamps, user-agent string, avatar or public user account images, and limited contact information such as an email address. You grant us permission to store this data in line with data protection laws. See the privacy policy for more details.
