Goodbye TDC, hello EKUA?

It looks like Thanet District Council (TDC) will be merged combined from two levels of council function into a bigger authority with Canterbury and Dover inheriting part of KCC’s remit for the new area.

Will this be good for us?

I guess we will wait and see. Until then, let the wild speculation begin.

What will the council cover

The new council will be responsible for Education, planning, highways (including potholes), collecting bins and running tips/dumps. Previously, these responsibilities were split between Thanet District Council and Kent County Council.
